To combine every 4 lines in a file with a space in between:

I used Behr’s No 63 to open up the pores and make the wood more absorbent. Then I used Behr’s Premium Deck and Fence finish No 500 (Natural). I applied two layers of finish on the deck and the stairs on 9/28/2009.
The first layer was applied with a semi-rough roller (3/4 nap) and worked with a 6″ brush. For the second layer, I just used roller which left a few splotches.

To sync all the files that match a pattern recursively:

rsync -rcv –include “*.java” –include “*/” –exclude “*” pdu@10.34.179.196:~/workspace/gds_source ~/tmp

you can put these  in ~/.screenrc

To enable the screen saver on Solaris, use xscreensaver-demo.  Do a man on xscreensaver for more info. To start xscreensaver automatically, put xscreensaver-command exit and xscreensaver & in Xsession. Do a find and edit all the Xsession files since there are more than one on Solaris.

Lets say we have a vector (v) of size 1xn and a matrix (a) of size mxn.  If we want to multiply every row in the matrix by the vector, we can do the following:

j=repmat(v,m,1);

Then do to get the answer

a.*j

To allow apache to access /www:

chcon -R -t httpd_sys_content_t /www

to check the results:

ls -alZ /www

you should get something that looks like:

Bidirectional netcat …

While netcat is excellent, one thing it doesn’t seem to do is to work as a generic proxy between two applications. The shell doesn’t help, providing only unidirectional pipelines … but with the use of FIFO pipes (sorry, not under Cygwin) you can construct something that will do the job.

You only have to do the mknod once, in order to create a pipe entity on the filesystem. Have a look in the files inflow and outflow to see the stored results of your conversation.
